Entering Jamaica on the plane and instantly you can feel the scorching heat hit you and your face starts drip with sweat. The plane lands and everyone starts clapping for the pilot but you are still amazed at how different it looks to your usual town (London). You can see that the trees are different you see millions of palm trees and all the people are black you’ve never seem so many black people in one place it all seems like your moving in slow motion, it seems like everyone even animals are just looking at you like you are the centre of attention but you still feel like your invincible and your so excited.
You get of the plane you then feel the intense heat hit you with full power and you continue to sweat even more. As excited as you are you have to go through baggage checks and all the rest but when you finally exit the airport you feel free. There you are waiting to be picked up and taken to your grandma’s house. On the way you gaze out the window and look at all these abnormal views you’ve never seen before excited to explore and find out all about it. You finally pull up to your grandma’s house and see all the family waiting to greet you on the veranda. You quickly run to meet all your new cousins and your grandma and granddad for the first time because they’ve been living in Jamaica for so long even before you were born. You finally settle down and you feel nice, relaxed and safe. Your cooked up the best meal of you life curry goat, fried chicken, macaroni, coleslaw and rice and peas with a big glass of D&G.
You’ve survived the first night but your were so excited you barley had sleep but you wake up still feeling refreshed. In the morning you go and say good morning to everyone and then a wif of food strikes your nostrils and you race to the kitchen to see what’s cooking it’s something you’ve never seen before your left with confusion wondering weather it was actually food. You ask one if your aunty’s what’s for breakfast she says akee & saltfish it’s Jamaica’s national dish. I finally get the chance to eat it and it is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, it was delicious.
We begin to pack our bags again, thinking you were leaving forever and never going back your head drops but then your mum tells you that your going to a hotel for a couple of weeks and you’ll then go back to say goodbye to your grandma and granddad. suddenly your head is held high with tones of excitement and you put your bags in the car and take of for the hotel. “wake up, wake up” is the sound of your brother screaming in your ear after you fell asleep on the journey. you look up and see the biggest hotel you’ve ever seen and the only hotel you’ve ever seen. your struck with excitement. you walk into the hotel, straight into the lobby and its one of the most amazing sightings ever, there’s water falls; arcade games and plenty of refreshments. I realise that there’s a big bowcany ahead of me I quickly go and run over to it and everything was clear that this was one of the best experiences ever. there were 7 swimming pools 3 jacuzzi s and there was as bridge over one swimming pool leading inside wear the buffet was.
sitting there in the lobby waiting for the longest queue ever nearly about to fall asleep, your mum tells you that your all ready and you make your way tom your room.
